Infor has made generally available Infor SCM Labor Management, an integrated warehouse and labor management application. The tool offers real-time workforce performance feedback to help improve warehouse operations and reduce labor costs, the vendor said. Infor's warehouse management software now covers all aspects of labor in the warehouse, from planning to tracking and reporting. Users can pinpoint unproductive time, such as idle periods between tasks, meetings and repair work. The application also tracks direct activities, so that all users can be measured against expected standards and one another. It allows for the capture of information via a user's radio-frequency device on a task-by-task basis. For example, the system identifies the time required for an employee to perform a task associated with a pick, putaway or other operation, and compares that with the company's established standard. Labor Management reports to the user's RF device in real time on how tasks are being performed throughout the day. Previously, said Infor, that information was only available during shift changes or breaks. Management can now make changes in real time and implement performance improvements accordingly.
