TMW Systems has developed several new products linked to its transportation management capabilities. The vendor has launched the TMW Freight Analyst application for decision support in truckload businesses. The browser-based software is available for use with most major commercial trucking software, as well as with systems that have customized or are maintained in-house. TMW Freight Analyst integrates activity-based costing, revenue data, service performance and driver hours of service. The tool also includes freight-flow analysis, to identify opportunities for improving daily operations and sales efforts. It offers lane and bid-pricing guidance, using the Market Rate Index to compare a carrier's lane and loading pricing with industry averages. In a related development, TMW has expanded its portfolio supply-chain management applications to support the needs of fuel supply-chain operations for convenience stores and other retail gasoline and diesel outlets. The vendor's Fuel Supply Chain Transport Management System offers a total of eight modules which can be purchased separately or as an integrated system. The system draws on TMW's Fuel Dispatch module and Inventory Services application to improve shift-based driver scheduling and fuel sourcing. TMW has also made available its exception-alerting system for the trucking industry, known as The Dawg, in a native AS/400/IBM i version. The Dawg adds real-time exception monitoring to most business intelligence applications used for transportation, including ResultsNow by TMW and CommandCenter. Users can set alert thresholds for key performance indicators or normal transaction types, based on acceptable ranges.
