Kewill plc has developed a new release of its transportation and warehouse-management software suite. Included in Kewill Logistics 6.04 is a 4PL (fourth-party logistics) Module. The tool set consists of a purchase order system which allows users to manage various third-party logistics services without the need for in-house transport assets. Cross-dock enhancements include integrated management of incoming and outgoing trips, load and unload lists, printing of transport documents, transport labels and overviews. The system supports the use of radio-frequency (RF) scanning. A new, Web-based plan board can be accessed from any location, without the need for installing software. Key functionalities include the automatic planning of shipments. Users can deploy overviews and reports, drag-and-drop grouping and sorting and filtering options. Kewill's software is used by manufacturers, distributors, retailers, freight forwarders, carriers, custom brokers, 3PLs and 4PLs, among others.
