Choice Logistics, a provider of logistic services to support the management of service parts, has established a regional hub in Dubai. The location will serve as the company's primary gateway for the Middle East. According to Choice, the market previously was utilized for forward stocking only; the company has since transitioned into "a more strategic role" in keeping with clients' evolving needs in that area. Choice will have the ability to act as importer of record on behalf of clients shipping in and out of the hub, for the coordination of order fulfillment and the shipment of high-tech spares. Parts can be shipped from the site into surrounding countries, such as Saudi Arabia, in just two days, versus the 25 days required for shipping from Europe. Choice said it is already managing service parts for clients from its Dubai operation "with positive results, and tangible economic impact." The company added that it plans to explore additional opportunities for growth in the Middle East.
