TNT Express has undertaken the worldwide launch of a new Express Import System. The Web-based tool lets users order the collection of import shipments from some 170 countries, with quotations and billing in local currencies. It is available to all TNT customers regardless of size or type of business, and whether they are sourcing finished goods or spare parts from multiple suppliers around the world. Express Import offers the option of requesting a quotation before completion of a booking. In the process, customers can decide when their import shipments will arrive, and at what cost. The importing customer enters orders online and connects to the sender via e-mail. TNT ships the goods via its ground or air network, depending on the customer's budget and timeline requirements. It also takes care of language differences, produces the required paperwork for the sender, and handles collection, transportation and customs clearance. Express Import is available with any of TNT's core delivery services. In another company development, TNT Hoau, its road distribution arm in China, has completed its nationwide, day-definite road distribution network. Over the past two months, TNT Hoau has extended coverage to Chengdu, Chongquing, Zhengzhou, Xian, Yantai and Xiamen. The company offers guaranteed, day-definite ground delivery to 26 of China's largest cities, via 246 day-definite linehauls. The network covers 800 depots throughout the country, with a large concentration in the major economic regions.
