BCMexperts, a vendor of supply-chain risk-management services offered via the cloud, has enhanced its system of crisis alerts for manufacturing supply chains. The company's offering now covers disease outbreaks and cyber threats via a crisis news monitor, in addition to its existing natural disaster alerts. The notifications list the customer's specific factories located within the crisis area, along with emergency contact information. Customers have continuous access to an interactive, online map showing current global crisis events and factory locations. Before a crisis hits, BCMexperts collects factory location and risk information on the customer's behalf. Within minutes of a crisis, customers are alerted via e-mail and RSS about suppliers' plants in the vicinity, along with their emergency contact information. Interactive features allow manufacturers to select all supplier factories within a given distance of a crisis location, and produce reports covering such elements as contacts and degree of factory risk.
