GT Nexus has joined with Capgemini in a business-process outsourcing (BPO) initiative for the supply chain. The two companies will work together to provide applications and services across North America and Europe, enabled by the GT Nexus technology platform. The move is said to strengthen Capgemini's role as a provider of supply-chain services to a wide range of sectors, including consumer packaged goods, manufacturing and telecommunications, linking them to logistics service providers through a managed services network. Under the agreement, Capgemini and GT Nexus will provide on-demand tools to enhance collaboration and visibility of trade and logistics operations across global networks in the cloud. Capgemini will contribute its expertise in BPO, managed offerings that enable supply-chain "orchestration," Rightshore resources and Platform offerings. GT Nexus will supply a cloud-based collaboration platform. In a related development, GT Nexus has launched G2, a business-to-business collaboration center for companies on the vendor's cloud supply-chain platform. Users logged into GT Nexus now have direct, secure access to G2, which combines social networking capabilities with a community of businesses on GT Nexus. The vendor's user community comprises thousands of organizations sharing a single cloud technology platform to manage their global supply chains.
