Epicor has routinely designed its ERP systems for SQL Server, according to the company. Introduced in 2008, the system is built on Epicor True SOA (service-oriented architecture), which is based on Microsoft .NET. It was designed to support application integration and business-to-business collaboration. SQL Server 2012 is expected to be generally available to Epicor ERP customers in September of 2012. Epicor iScala is designed for the worldwide divisions and subsidiaries of multinationals and large local or regional companies. It offers integrated ERP, supply-chain, manufacturing execution system, field service, project management, payroll and other capabilities, all built on a framework based on Microsoft .NET and Web services.
