Delivered via a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, the tool covers such areas as compliance, risk management, governance and control of global logistics. It was created in partnership with Inttra, a multi-carrier network for the ocean shipping industry, and Amber Road, a provider of global trade management software. The arrangement with Inttra aids in collaboration with 40 ocean carriers and non-vessel operating common carriers. Integration of Amber Road's GTM technology with On-Demand TMS through the LeanGlobal module gives customers access to a comprehensive database of global trade content. LeanGlobal automates the trade-compliance function, including product classification, import and export-control checks, documentation determination, restricted-party screening, ocean freight settlement and global business intelligence. The new version was slated to become available to all users of the Lean Logistics Transportation Network on Nov. 13, 2012.
