Drawing on Dell Boomi's Integration Packs, the Ariba Integration Connector enables companies to collaborate more efficiently through pre-packaged integration, according to the vendor. The first connector was designed to integrate with Intuit QuickBooks. Additional connectors, geared to sellers who own Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and Sage Peachtree/Sage 50 (2009-2013) software, are planned for release later this year. In another company announcement, Ariba has released a new set of software tools to help users manage spot buys and unplanned purchases of unique items. Ariba Spot Buy, representing the integration of Ariba Procure-to-Pay and Ariba Discovery, allows buyers quickly to identify and qualify new sources for one-off, time-sensitive or hard-to-find purchases. Ariba Recommendations helps to guide buyers to qualified suppliers based on a variety of inputs, including buyer requirements, supplier capabilities and performance ratings. In addition, it shows how often other buyers on the network have awarded business to those suppliers.
