Mobileye notifies drivers of potential accidents by alerting them to impending collisions with vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians when making an unintended lane change, or following a vehicle too closely. The vendor's Traffic Sign Recognition technology identifies posted speed limits in real time and alerts drivers to speed-limit violations. Mobileye also automatically controls high beams, depending upon distance from other traffic. In another company announcement, Element Financial Corp. has entered into an agreement to acquire GE Capital's Canadian fleet portfolio for C$570m. The Canadian operations will be combined with Element's existing TLS Fleet Management business. Under their strategic alliance, the two companies will jointly pursue Canadian and U.S. cross-border fleet-management business.
