The tool accepts orders from order-management systems, then allocates and clusters them to optimize the use of store space and time during the picking and processing of orders. For grocers, the picker may choose either voice activation or browser-based devices to pick items for packaging on carts, and for those carts to be marshaled into staging areas. From there, they are loaded for home delivery, "click-and-collect" store areas, or drive-through facilities used in mainland Europe. For hardline retailers, the system also processes customers' e-commerce orders that might have been picked in another store or distribution center, and are to be picked up in-store. For apparel and fashion retailers, the system can direct the picker to the location where products are likely to be, as well as support shipment direct from the store.
