The update allows small to mid-sized retailers to deliver personalized customer service. It includes standard mobile capabilities, which let retailers interact with clients anywhere in the store. Customer profiles can be shared across every channel, allowing retailers to offer in-store returns for online purchases, view customer order history and items remaining in an online shopping cart. Other features include inventory visibility, providing the ability to fulfill orders for items out of stock at a particular store through other locations and channels; “look book” functionality, to guide customers through options not current stocked in the store; employee management functionality, and enhanced sales reporting. RetailPoint is built on an open application program interface (API) that can integrate with any software that is similarly equipped. The software is operating system- and device-agnostic, the company said.
