Inovis and a group of leading high-tech manufacturers have co-founded AsiaB2B, the first independent business-to-business user community in the Asia-Pacific region. The aim is to promote global process standards in B2B electronic transactions, the vendor said. Inovis co-founded the organization with Cisco Systems, Intel, Microsoft, SAP AG, Fairchild Semiconductor and other technology providers. AsiaB2B is supported by Edifice (www.edifice.org), the European B2B forum for companies in the electronics industry. According to Chris Beukenkamp, Inovis's managing director for Asia-Pacific, AsiaB2B will "paint the road map for B2B in the future." Members will discuss a variety of standards, including EDI, RosettaNet, OAGi, XML, JEITA and Zengin. AsiaB2B's objective is to promote the use of global best practices and standards in B2B communications in Asia-Pacific, with a focus on computing, electronics and telecommunications markets.
