E2open, a provider of hosted software for supply-chain management, has developed new features to enable business-network collaboration for process management. The latest release of the vendor's application includes Excel integration capabilities, self-service tools and enhanced business intelligence features. The Excel add-in enables secure, bi-directional communication with customer systems, without leaving the Excel interface. Customers can collaborate with small and medium-sized trading partners that might previously have been executing key business processes manually. The self-service capabilities allow users to configure, test and activate business-to-business connections by themselves, in their own time zones. New capabilities include the management of security certificates and message controls (prioritize, hold and throttle) for the faster on-boarding of trading partners.
