Features of the update include a category explorer, allowing users to inspect the connections between item categories; the ability to identify connected groups of items that can be used for cross-promotion as well as isolated or slow movers; an improved item-graph display which reveals connectivity based on customer buying patterns, and a search interface which lets users query for interesting and relevant item connections. Retailers, for example, can view which categories have the most connections and yield the highest profit when sold together. The tool helps users to respond quickly to shifts in the market and competitors, Emcien said.
