Smartfleet draws on Alcatel-Lucent's ng Connect Program to provide scheduling, asset utilization and real-time work-order communication through the Jetstream suite. The tool runs on any tablet or smartphone using iOS, Android or the Windows mobile platform. With the help of Smartfleet, field technicians and other mobile users can ensure that vehicles are properly stocked, in addition to obtaining optimized routes and receiving turn-by-turn driving directions, Apptricity said. They can also receive alerts of new and updated work orders with detailed instructions, time estimates and required materials. Smartfleet provides notification of expected arrival times via integrated text messaging, e-mail and phone. With Jetstream Work Order Management, orders can be graphically scheduled through a drag-and-drop interface, and immediately communicated to the appropriate technician, the vendor said.
