FAM 2.0 is an application within Transplace's Transportation Management System (TMS). It gives carriers visibility to freight, allowing for real-time access and communication to bid on loads. It also provides instant access to information on transportation services. In the process, Transplace claimed, the tool minimizes miscommunication on routes and improves the efficiency and accuracy of service to shippers. FAM 2.0 can also support a public exchange environment, to secure capacity and rates in a backhaul, capacity-constrained market. Transplace is a non-asset, North America-based third-party logistics provider serving manufacturers, retailers, chemical and consumer packaged goods companies.
