The tool takes into consideration inventory levels and actual or expected sales to calculate the probability that an item will become out of stock. Then it uses granular data sets to predict the root cause of the situation, and allows the user to take action. OSA also uses interactive dashboards containing key performance indicators to help users understand the level of OSA, the losses they have incurred and their root causes. From there, they can drill down to identify trends across sales territories and individual stores.
