Sage North America has released version 6.0 of Sage ERP (enterprise resource planning) Accpac. As the first step in the vendor's new Web-deployable ERP framework, the update enables browser-based access. It can be deployed on-premise or in the cloud through Sage ERP Accpac Online. The latest version includes a Web portal built on the Google Web Toolkit platform, providing the first step toward a full Web-based Sage ERP Accpac implementation, as well as mobile access from iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Another feature, Fiscal Period Management, allows users to lock fiscal periods by module for more accurate transaction processing. The embedded BI (business intelligence) Snapshots provides at-a-glance access to key operational metrics. An interface with Accpac Inquiry lets users create personalized, on-the-fly query lists. Additional features of version 6.0 include built-in customer-relationship management and improved business intelligence. In another company announcement, Sage Payment Solutions, the payments division of Sage North America, has made available Safe Mobile Payment. Compliant with payment card industry standards, the tool comes bundled with a Sage merchant account to allow small and medium-sized businesses to accept credit and debit cards on more than 400 types of mobile phones and computing devices, across all major wireless carriers.
