Eventually, Syspro said, the App Store will encompass thousands of applications, many of which are expected to become available by the end of this year. The store will allow for direct purchasing by users, while providing companies with controls to ensure that purchases are authorized. In a related announcement, Syspro has made available a point-of-sale (POS) application for retail management. Known as Syspro Point of Sale, it is built on the source code that underlies the vendor's ERP software. It can help users throughout the retailing process, from ordering to inventory management, transit, front-end transactions, daily or period cash-outs and the use of card-based customer loyalty programs. Finally, Syspro has made available CADTalk for Syspro, a software application that integrates the vendor's ERP system with a number of computer-assisted design (CAD) applications. In the process, users can synchronize item numbers and bills of material, reducing the need for data entry.
