The modules are part of the vendor's Intelligent Fulfillment software suite, aimed at the omnichannel operations of retailers and manufacturers. Enhancements center around fixed-fleet routing with dynamic insertion. The tool allows for a more granular level of item-awareness during load building, JDA said. Users can strategically split shipments into two or more sub-shipments to improve load efficiency. Another new capability considers the priority of shipments based on system inputs that are provided by processes such as upstream replenishment planning. New functionality also allows planners to define "skeleton" routes, with stop sequences and load characteristics that are best suited for recurring freight movements. In another company announcement, JDA has partnered with Centiro, a provider of cloud-based delivery-management applications, to jointly deliver retail supply-chain management software. The deal combines JDA's supply-chain execution applications with Centiro's parcel-management capabilities, allowing for greater efficiency in omnichannel fulfillment, JDA said.
